What I do
Planning, ordering, coordinating and doing the work — bathrooms, kitchens, tiling, drywall, electrics, floors and paint. That includes fitting a shower, toilet or basin onto the connections already there. Moving pipework and drainage is a plumber's job, and so is anything structural, so I bring the right person in rather than pretending to cover it.
Bathroom renovation
Strip-out to final seal — tanking, tiling, electrics, and the suite fitted. Keep the layout and I do the lot.
Kitchen fitting
Flat-pack or bespoke, levelled and scribed to Altbau walls that are never straight.
Electrical work
A qualified electrician doing it himself, not subbing it out — one socket to a full rewire.
Tiling
Walls and floors, big porcelain down to mosaic, on a substrate that's been prepared properly first.
Drywall & partitions
Putting walls up, taking them out, dropping ceilings, and boxing in the stuff nobody wants to look at.
Painting & decorating
The prep is most of the job. Filling, sanding, plaster repair, then paint that actually stays put.
Flooring & parquet
Bringing Berlin floorboards and parquet back where they can be saved, and levelling subfloors where they can't.
Apartment renovation
The whole flat, planned and run end to end, with one person answering for it.
Exhibition & shop fitting
Stands, retail and gallery installs — built fast, to a fixed date, then made good.
Small jobs too — shelves up, flat-pack built, things repaired, and the list that never gets done. General handyman work has a 3-hour minimum.All services

Where I work
Berlin and just outside it, further afield if it's worth the trip. Most of my work is in the Altbau belt, where no wall is straight and no two flats are the same.
Common questions
- Do you speak English?
- Yes. I'm British and I've lived in Berlin 25 years, so you get the job explained in plain English and sorted out in German where it has to be.
- Do you do plumbing?
- Some of it. I'll fit a shower, a toilet, a basin or new taps onto the connections that are already there. What I don't do is move the pipes or the drainage to a new position — that's a plumber's job, and I'll get one in.
- Is there a minimum charge for small jobs?
- General handyman work has a 3-hour minimum. Bigger renovation work I price by the job, not the hour, once I've seen it.
- Which parts of Berlin do you cover?
- Berlin and just outside it. Further out, ask me.
